I’m Sumaya Wicomb, a production designer with a passion for creating immersive cinematic worlds. With a keen eye for detail and a love for storytelling,I’ve had the privilege of working on some incredible projects in the South African film industry.

Throughout my career, I’ve collaborated with talented directors and producers to bring their visions to life. Some of my most notable works include ‘The Umbrella Men’ (2022), ‘Barakat’ (2020), and ‘The Umbrella Men: Escape from Robben Island’ (2023).

My design philosophy is rooted in creating visually stunning sets that not only enhance the storytelling but also become integral characters in the film. I believe that a well-designed set can significantly impact the audience’s emotional connection to the story.
